We are committed to raising attendance levels and reducing lateness in order to ensure pupils at the school have the maximum opportunity to thrive and learn within the school.
Our Family & Community Manager can work with parents who are struggling with maintaining high levels of attendance for their children. Please make an appointment if you wish to discuss the issue further with her. If, as a school, we are concerned about your child's attendance level, we may request a meeting with you, to see how we can support you in improving their attendance.
'Perfect Attendance' Awards
Every term, all children will 100% attendance for the term have their names put into a prize draw, with two lucky winners receiving prizes for themselves and their families. Recent prizes have included family passes to 'The big Day Out' festival and family tickets to the Kino Cinema.
Please keep an eye on our attendance board outside the front of the school. This will show you how we are doing as a school with our attendance, and how this compares to the same period last year. It will also show which class won the attendance certificate for the best class attendance for the previous week.
In line with KCC policy, we expect pupils to attend school every day when the school is open and they are well. Where there are more than 5 days/ 10 sessions unauthorised absence in a 50 day period, we may request a penalty notice. Penalty Notices are issued by KCC to each parent of each child and the amount of the penalty will be £120 to be paid within 28 days, reduced to £60 if paid within 21 days. Failure to pay the penalty in full at the end of the 28 day period may result in prosecution by the Attendance Service.
